Hello again, FutureFans! TomorrowLad is here today with an update on the future that is coming soon to a roadway near you!
You ready for this? Here we go!
Driverless cars.
Now, we’ve discussed electric vehicles on the site before, but now we’re going to give you an update on another advance toward the fully computerized commute!
As reported by the San Jose Mercury, the California Legislature unanimously approved SB 1298 and sent it to Governor Jerry Brown for the final signature that would pass the bill into law. SB 1298 charges the California Department of Motor Vehicles with codifying a set of standards for autonomous vehicles (can that run, essentially, on full autopilot) by January of 2015.
Here is a look inside Google’s driverless car project, for those of you who have not yet heard of these (admittedly) awesome developments!

Now, this is not to say that there aren’t hurdles, engineering quandaries, and other baffling roadblocks (pun intended!) to the realization of this technological dream. People have raised concerns about potential technological failure, liability in the case of accidents, and other complications.
What is sure, however, is that this is just another step on the road to the future! The future is coming.
Are you ready?
